Band: CAGE 9
Hometown: Los Angeles, California

Lineup:
Evan Rodaniche:  Guitar & Vocals
Gustavo Aued:  Bass Guitar
Ivan "Pipo" Canton:  Drums

The L.A. based band's audio rides a rollercoaster that rocks hard on the ups, grooves with soulful samples and beats on the downs. In the categories of Incubus, Puddle of Mudd, Linkin Park and Tool, this is an act that takes the format for a spin that'll leave you comfortably dazed and asking: "Why the hell haven't I heard this before?"

Cage9 relocated to L.A. from Panama in March after a successful independent west coast tour. They landed the legal backing of reknowned music attorney Owen Sloane (P.O.D., Jane's Addiction, Elton John, Matchbox 20, Susan Vega...) who is currently negotiating a mega-publishing deal for the band with BMG. Mark "Moke" Bistany, ex-drummer for Otep, Cellophane, Alice Cooper, Lenny Kravitz (etc.) signed on to manage the trio after catching a show at the Troubadour and remarking to ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares "why isn't this band signed?!!!"    ...shameless name-dropping...

Cage9 has opened for Cheap Trick, Journey, .38 Special and toured everywhere from Costa Rica to Europe to the East Coast. The band has songs featured on the new FX show "The Shield" and on ESPN/Japan. "Li'l Doggies" was a #1 most requested song on Panama's rock stations for over a month and "Remember December" was #2 in the pop/rock category of Garageband.com's reviewer's picks. Cage9 was mentioned in Billboard Magazine for winning Best Alternative Band, Best Male Vocalist and Best Video for "W" in 2003's Panamarock Awards (Panama's Grammys). The band's MP3 for "Tree Climber" has been the 3rd most downloaded song on Panamarock.com for the past 4 months. The band's L.A. fanbase has grown at about 100 member per month and on their home-turf have independently released three other CDs, selling thousands of copies domestically and elsewhere.

Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Evan Rodaniche has produced and recorded many acts including Grammy-nominated Los Rabanes. But it's his Incubus meets Metallica vocals and alt-rawk guitar grit that balance the band between alternative and heavy. Cousins Gustavo Aued and Ivan "Pipo" Canton, both 23, rattle the bass and drum Richter scale by melding their well-versed progressive, funk and metal influences in the bands mid and lo end..
