Have you ever listened to the radio and wondered where pure rock music has gone? Whatever happened to solid heavy guitar licks and pounding kick and snare rhythms with groove oriented bass lines that make you want to move? And vocals that not only stimulate your ears, but take you back to that familiar moment in time that stirs your soul. Flathead Fillups has put together a collaboration of new material and high energy live performances that will bring new meaning to what a hard rock show should be. From headlining shows in Chicago clubs such as Metro, Double Door, Cubby Bear, and Joe's on Weed Street, to hitting the road and playing out of town clubs such as St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit, The Star Plaza in Indiana, and Pop's in St. Louis, Flathead Fillups has captured the audience and given them a taste of what pure rock was meant to be.
With the increasing exposure of unsigned talent through the internet, Flathead Fillups has captured the number one and two spots in the hard rock genre on www.garageband.com for the past 12 months with tracks 1 and 2 off of their debut release "Word of Mouth" (produced by Johnny K of Groovemaster Recording, Chicago), landed four of the six tracks from "Word of Mouth" a spot in an upcoming movie production, and been named Midwest Beat Magazine's 2001 BAND OF THE YEAR. Their music has been heard through Q101's Local 101 show (WKQX Chicago), 96.7 Will Rock, and many other local stations throughout the region, and over 3,000 copies of their debut release have been sold. Still determined to push the envelope, Flathead Fillups has released their second E.P., "POUND", and showcased it in style as they brought over 1,000 rock thirsty fans into a brand new rock room at Club Oasis One-Sixty in Chicago's south suburbs. Over 200 copies of the new release were sold in one night, and plans to distribute the CD are continually in the works. With the help of "POUND", Flathead Fillups is determined to get their music out to the industry and take it to the next level.
