Angst and Agony began as a side project with little or no hope of becoming anything more than just Rain (Jeff Oberg) and his guitar. The songs kept coming and he found contentment for a while, but when things started going adrift with his current band of the time he needed to make Angst and Agony a full-out effort. He started posting ads in musician's classifieds services and got many responses for bassists. One response caught his eye in particular. A young bassist, Andrew Burdett, with a dream and a lot of heart began callaborating with him. They got together and quickly established the backbone and foundation of what later became what Rain was looking for all along.

Andrew knew the next big piece of the puzzle would be to find a truely talented drummer capable of complex rhythms and fast fills to complement the first couple of songs they had written. After a little while he found Vince Palumbo and Angst and Agony had their drummer. The three worked over many songs, constantly re-writing, and eventually found a groove. The last piece of the puzzle still eluded them: a talented frontman with a voice full of emotion. Unfortunately tension began to grow in the band and Vince and the rest of the guys parted ways, leaving Angst and Agony drummerless and in search of two pieces of the puzzle they sought to put together. The band was currently searching for their new drummer when Vince made amends with the rest of the group and rejoined Angst to make the lineup almost complete. The band received a phone call late one night after a practice session and was surprised to hear Charlie Anderson's voice on the other end inquiring about the band's progress. Later during the phone call Charlie made it known that he wished to try out his vocal talents for the band and try to be the missing link the band had been missing for so long. However only 2 monthes after his joining, the band and Charlie suffered from creative differences and parted ways..

A turn of events and a good friend and vocalist named Steve Minix was asked to audition for the position and there was an instant chemistry throughout the newly formed lineup and the decision was made to welcome Steve to the band.
